All, I have an opportunity to go to Australia and need a bird guide. I have contacted the Australian bird club and no takers.

Can anyone give me a name or two who may be able to assist me?

Many thanks for any response. Jim Rettig

A Belted Kingfisher is nesting in the sand banks near the bank swallow cavities.  Look over the gates, that are across the road from the main entrance gates, and look to the right.  The Kingfisher’s hole is lower on the bank than the swallow holes and the Kingfisher’s hole is a little larger.

Even at 11:30 AM, there were still good numbers of birds present. Highlights included 16 Dickcissels, 4 Blue Grosbeaks, one singing Bell’s Vireo, and one singing Bobolink. The Bobolink was either a singing female or a male in juvenile or basic plumage.
