Location: Bald eagle (possible pair)

Date: Thursday, February 8, 2018

Reporter: E Bills

Other Observers:

Large bald eagle swooped up over my windshield this morning while crossing the Hopewell Bridge over the Little Miami River, spread his wings and pulled up before coming to a perched rest at the top of that great Sycamore tree next to the bridge.  Another large bird was already perched at the top – presumably another bald eagle but with the light this one was in dark profile so I can’t confirm.   They were still perched together when the traffic light turned green and I headed for the highway.  What an incredible sight on the way to work!  (10:20 am)

(I saw one high overhead last year at the same location but not as close.  Today was something I’ll always remember!)

Shot taken from traffic light at Hopewell and Loveland-Madiera Rd looking back at Sycamore tree. Not great for identifying the birds but good for location reference.
