Pomarine Jaeger

Stercorarius pomarinus

One remained at Harsha Lake, East Fork State Park, Clermont County, from October 30 through November 15, 1999, and was photographed a number of times (Lehman 2000).

Our second record was photographed on the Preble County portion of Acton Lake, in Hueston Woods State Park. It was seen only one day, September 9, 2018 (Caldwell 2018b).

The Harsha Lake record was accepted by the Ohio Bird Records Committee (McCormac 2000a). By 2018, Pomarine Jaeger was no longer on the Ohio review list because of numerous Lake Erie records, so the Acton Lake record was not submitted to the committee.
