Join Ned Keller for an early summer morning walk with emphasis on the overall nature of the Oxbow area. This will include breeding birds, butterflies and plants. Ned will begin our trip around Oxbow Lake, and then may move to Shawnee Lookout near morning’s end to take advantage of the diverse habitats found in the Oxbow area. We hope to see and hear water birds, raptors, warblers, vireos, orioles, tanagers, flycatchers, grosbeaks and buntings, cuckoos and more.
To reach the Oxbow, take I-275 to the Lawrenceburg, Indiana exit. Turn left onto U.S. 50 at the end of the exit ramp, and proceed about a hundred yards. Turn left onto an unmarked road just past the Shell station. Turn right at the “T” intersection, then left to the meeting spot at the next “T”.
