The Christmas Bird Count is a tradition begun in 1900. Participants divide into groups to count all the birds they can find in a circle which is 15 miles in diameter, then meet to add up their results. The Michaela Farm – Oldenburg Christmas Count is centered on Michaela Farm, in Oldenburg, Indiana, and includes rural spots in the area.
We meet at 8:00 at the large barn on Michaela Farm along Route 229 on the eastern edge of Oldenburg. The tally is at 1:00 at the Oldenburg Franciscan Center, located next to Oldenburg Academy. Lunch is provided for a $10 donation.
