Many organisms around us feel far removed from a human life, but if we look closer, we can find many surprising similarities that give us a window into the history of life on Earth. By observing the anatomy and physiology of a salamander, we can look back to a time where vertebrates were originally moving on to land. With their amphibious lifestyle and ancient body plan, salamanders have many traits that resemble our ancient ancestors. Come join salamander fanatic and ASO board member Ryan Jorgensen as he walks us through the adaptations necessary for a fish to move to land and how we can see many of these adaptations in today’s salamanders.
