Ohio River Christmas Bird Count
December 14
The Christmas Bird Count is a tradition begun in 1900. Participants divide into groups to count all the birds they can find in a circle which is 15 miles in diameter, then meet to add up their results. See the National Audubon Society web site for more information on what the Christmas Bird Count is all about.
The Ohio River count will be held Sunday, December 14. The Count circle includes Shawnee Lookout County Park and the Great Miami and Ohio Rivers; much of the circle is in Kentucky and Indiana.
