Audubon Zoom Program – Balcones Canyonlands
Let’s Get to Know Balcones Canyonlands (Central Texas)
Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge manages and protects an area of the Texas Hill Country known for its diverse plants and wildlife, steep limestone ‘balconies,’ and precious endangered species.
Balcones is famous for Golden Cheeked Warblers, Black Capped Vireos, Cave Swallows and Sparrows, sparrows, sparrows. Our presenter, Sarah Meyer, executive director of the Friends of Bancones, will take us through the Preserve and the unique wildlife it supports. She will also go over the various festivals (summer and winter) sponsored by the Preserve.
