Archilochus alexandri
Our only record, and the only Ohio record, of this Eurasian species occurred on December 29, 1994, when it was found foraging in a wheat field near the hamlet of Panhandle, west of West Union, Adams County. A handful of birders were able to relocate it the following morning before it flew off (Whan 1995, accepted by OBRC Fazio 1995).
